MY STORY...
Peter Wyatt, MBACP (Accred), PDip (CBT)
I am currently semi-retired, working exclusively online.
In a previous existence, I was in management with a large multinational corporation, followed by a career in sales, until changes in my personal circumstances forced a change of direction. As a single parent of two teenage boys, I used the luxury of a work hiatus to train for a new career in counselling.
Prior to training as a counsellor, I was a volunteer manager at the Storehouse Project, a drop-in centre for the homeless and vulnerably housed, those with drug and/or alcohol addiction and mental health issues. It was obvious I had a gift for talking to the service users, but how to help them move on? It was this question that led me to consider a career in counselling.
Four years training later, I was lucky enough to work in the NHS at both the Taylor Centre and the Atrium.
I have also been living with ME/Chronic Fatigue for over a decade. My personal experience has enabled me to offer excellent therapy to those struggling with this prohibitive and intrusive condition
